Hilton Head Health weight loss retreat or spa is different than either of these.  We are here to serve, and work with Guests who are serious enough about healthy weight loss that they are more interested in learning and changing than they are in short term pleasures.  Yes, we have spa treatments, which can be therapeutic in helping you to relax, which in turn improves learning and motivation.  But the point has to be remembered:  the long range success of your healthy weight loss is what our weight loss spa is about.

As for that one size fits all stuff found at many fat farms and adult fat camps:  not at Hilton Head Health.  We know each of our Guests has a unique need and a unique and important life.  For medical, personal and practical reasons no weight loss resort or fat farm should try to treat everyone the same.  We will expose all of our Guests to best practices and the most up-to-date information available, but we will also help to guide them into the seminars, training and counseling most appropriate for them.  Above all, we trust our Guests to be able to choose among our offerings to get what they want from the experience, not just what we think they should have.

Other Health Goals and Benefits

Many guests come to Hilton Head Health with specific health goals in mind.  Our Health Specialists and Staff will work with your personal physician or allied health professional (such as Registered Dietitian or Physical Therapist).  Typical areas of focus are hypertension, diabetes, menopausal or postpartum symptoms, cardiac risk or impairment, arthritis, high blood pressure, high cholesterol or tobacco use. It is always helpful (but not mandatory) for us to receive a health status report from your health professional. The first morning of your stay at Hilton Head Health, you will receive an individual health assessment, which includes:

• Blood pressure
• Lipid profile (cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides)
• Fasting glucose level

There are no unnecessary or expensive medical procedures, however, health services can be arranged if indicated or desired, right here at our weight loss spa:

• Medical and physical examination and diagnostic work-up
• Stress testing
• Strength and flexibility testing
• Metabolic & cardiovascular assessment

Hilton Head Health's weight loss spa is a superior behavior modification program that is successful in helping Guests regain control through a healthy lifestyle.  This lifestyle is the foundation of health, but it does not substitute for professional medical attention.  We are experienced and comfortable working with medical professionals in tailoring our program to each Guest's specific conditions and preferences.  Please talk with your Health Specialist about it.
